Are you ready to embark on a culinary adventure that will make your taste buds dance with joy? Say goodbye to the ordinary and hello to the extraordinary with homemade choco-nut ice cream using True Scoops chocolate ice cream mix! This isn't your average run-of-the-mill dessert; it's a delightful combination of sweet and salty flavors that'll have you coming back for seconds, thirds, and maybe even fourths (we won't judge).
First things first, get your hands on True Scoops chocolate ice cream mix. It's like magic in a packet – just add half & half, mix, freeze, and voila! You've got a creamy base that's begging to be elevated to the next level. Now, here's where the fun begins: the nuts! But not just any nuts, oh no. We're talking about a blend of sweet and salty nuts that'll add a crunchy, flavor-packed punch to every spoonful. Whether you prefer almonds, cashews, or peanuts, the choice is yours. Just don't blame us if you can't stop munching on them while you wait for the ice cream to freeze.
As you sit back and wait for your homemade choco-nut creation to set, ponder the marvels of life. Like, who was the genius that decided to combine chocolate and nuts in the first place? And why do we call it "choco-nut" instead of "nut-choc"? These are the deep, existential questions that may or may not be answered as you indulge in scoop after scoop of your delicious masterpiece. So go ahead, whip up a batch, and treat yourself to a dessert that's nutty in all the right ways!
What you'll need:
- True Scoops Chocolate Ice Cream Mix
- 1 Cup Cold Half & Half
- 2-3 Tbsp of finely chopped salted and honey-roasted nuts (we're using THESE for convenience)
How to make:
1) In a bowl, pour in the ice cream mix and half & half
2) Using an electric mixer on low speed, mix for 1 minute and then mix on high speed for 4 minutes
3) Pour the liquid mixture back into the pint container and place in the freezer for 45 minutes
4) Take the pint out of the freezer and sprinkle in the nuts. With a skewer or chopstick, GENTLY swirl the nuts into the mix so they become evenly dispersed
5) Freeze the pint for 4-5 additional hours or until fully firm
*To shorten freezing time, adjust your freezer to the coldest setting and place it in the back where it's the coldest.
*Make sure your freezer isn't overpacked with items, it prohibits the cold air from circulating and will slow the freezing process
